About This Place

Located in the heart of Berlin’s Spandau district, Sofra Frühstückscafé is a delightful Turkish restaurant and bakery that specializes in an authentic, soul-satisfying breakfast experience. Nestled at Klosterstraße 6-7, this gem offers a rich tapestry of Anatolian flavors that transport you far from the bustling city streets into the warm embrace of a traditional Turkish morning.

As you step inside, the inviting aroma of freshly baked simit and warm pastries envelops you, creating an atmosphere that is both vibrant and cozy. The ambiance merges the charm of a bustling Turkish café with the friendly intimacy of a neighborhood spot, where every guest is welcomed like family. The ever-present sound of the samovar gently boiling tea only deepens this authentic feel, making your visit feel like a comforting retreat.

The menu at Sofra Frühstückscafé boasts an impressive array of Turkish breakfast classics, each dish crafted with care and bursting with fresh, bold flavors. The Menemen offers a luscious scramble of tomatoes, peppers, and eggs, perfectly spiced and served fresh from the pan. For those craving something heartier, the Manti—delicate Turkish dumplings topped with flavorful yogurt and spices—showcases the skill and tradition behind the kitchen’s artistry.

The Gemischtes Frühstück platter is an adventure for your palate, combining a variety of fresh breads, cheeses, olives, and homemade spreads that perfectly balance richness and freshness. Fans of more indulgent meals will find joy in the Konya Tavasi, a slow-cooked, savory specialty that oozes comfort and depth. And to round off your culinary journey, the Cay (Turkish tea) poured from the samovar offers a fragrant and soothing conclusion, while freshly baked Gözleme, Pide, Börek and delicate Torte provide sweet or savory accompaniments that are impossible to resist.

What truly sets Sofra Frühstückscafé apart is not only the delicious spread but the heartfelt hospitality. Guests repeatedly praise the friendly and attentive staff who brighten each morning with genuine warmth and care. Despite the rising prices in the area, this restaurant remains remarkably affordable, providing substantial portions that leave a lasting impression without emptying your wallet.

Whether you’re a local or just visiting Berlin, a stop at Sofra Frühstückscafé is a must for anyone craving an authentic Turkish breakfast experience that ignites the senses and warms the spirit. Its combination of rich cultural flavors, welcoming atmosphere, and exceptional value makes it one of the city’s best-kept secrets for starting your day the right way.

One of the best turkish breakfast place in Berlin, easy to access from Spandau train station and Archaden, lovely staff who would cheer your day up, very affordable despite of increasing price in the area. Lots of bread selections

Affordable restaurant with a genuine Turkish breakfast, the moment one enters this venue, the aroma of fresh simit and other bakery, the Samovar and fresh tea, full of guests, transports the guest right into the Anatolian atmosphere.

Excellent quality and very good range of Turkish breakfast and other meals. Friendly service - they don’t have a menu in English however. Staff was friendly. Decent coffee and very good Turkish tea. The Manti was very good too- freshly made and delicious as was their freshly made bread and pastries. All the items on their platter were also very good- definitely recommend if you are in the area and looking for some breakfast All in - it was about 10euro per head for a FULL meal including drinks and bread and mains.

The best place for authentic Turkish breakfast in Spandau. Amazing quality food that ranges from stable breakfast items to salads, Turkish speciality foods like Mantı, Kuru Fasulye, Türlü and many others. The dessert menu is also impressive and covers the essentials like baklava and künefe to tiramisu and kadayif. The food is top quality and very well priced. The staff are very friendly and there are enough seating areas indoors and outdoors. Must try in Spandau.

Calm weekday breakfast and excellent service. Their simit was fresh and crunchy. I ordered the omelette with mushroom and it was tasting sumptuous (better than the photos).

Went for breakfast at around 9:30am. The Café was not that full yet. I seated myself and a staff immediately offered me the Menu. That‘s a start, but that was done without any hint of a smile. Although the place wasn’t packed yet, I got my order (Menemen, which is pretty easy to prepare, in my opinion) after almost 20 minutes. A couple who came in just after I ordered even got their food first, and they ordered one from the Tavalar too, which are cooked pan dishes. Service is okay but not top notch. No smiles from waitresses. Food was average. Not really very tasty. But the Simit was fresh and fragrant, and good thing there are side dishes to complement the taste (as it should). The place is good for groups or families. They offer ample seating. Also very accessible from the train station and a bus stop is just literally at their doorstep. Overall, I quite liked the dining experience but there is something to improve with their service. I finished my breakfast and was very full after (always when it is Turkish Breakfast). Will I come again? Only when it is convenient perhaps, and also to try their other dishes and bread. P.S. they don’t accept credit and Visa Cards. Payment ist either with cash or EC/Girocard, and also only from 6€. 3.8/5
